
With a strong foundation in Chemistry and a PhD in Bioengineering, Mesut Kaplan has over 15 years of experience in the medical sector. He enriched his expertise with a Master’s degree in Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine, and throughout his career, he has led international projects that combine academic specialization with industrial innovation. During this time, he has developed a deep expertise in the use of biomaterials for brain and neurological applications.
Starting his career as an R&D and Production Director, Mesut Kaplan managed the design and production processes for the group’s medical devices, leading the development and commercialization of 11 licensed and FDA-approved commercial products. These products include critical medical devices such as shunt drainage systems, artificial dural materials, bone cement, and grafts. He also personally synthesized key raw materials used in production, such as silicone, bone cement, and B-TCP, and ensured their compliance with ISO-13485 and EDQM regulations.
Through both his academic studies and industrial experience, Mesut Kaplan has proven his competence in various fields, including the synthesis and characterization of micro and nanostructures, drug delivery systems, bioceramics, and biosensors. Currently, he serves as the General Manager of a biotechnology company, continuing to bridge the gap between academic and commercial work.
In addition to his professional identity, Mesut Kaplan is also interested in literature and music, and has a published novel and writes articles for magazines. This multifaceted personality demonstrates his ability to combine scientific and technical knowledge with creative and innovative approaches.
